Benjamin T. Danforth

Mr. Danforth's practice focuses on litigation, real estate, and land use/zoning matters.

Mr. Danforth's litigation experience includes representing clients in a variety of matters in local courts and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. He regularly appears in court on behalf of his clients, and he has tried numerous civil cases involving matters such as property damage, breach of contract, and landlord/tenant disputes. He also has defended clients facing a variety of criminal charges.

In the real estate and land use/zoning arena, Mr. Danforth assists his builder and developer clients in all phases of real estate development, from the filing of land use cases, to appearing before local government bodies, including County Boards, Planning Commissions, and Boards of Zoning Appeals, to creating communities through the subdivision of land and the formation of community associations. In the process, he regularly meets with citizen groups and local government planning staffs to garner the support and consent needed to obtain project approvals. Mr. Danforth also prepares necessary development documents, including real estate contracts, deeds of subdivision, deeds of easement, and community association documents.

A graduate of the Washington & Lee University School of Law, Mr. Danforth is very familiar with Northern Virginia, having grown up in Arlington and being an alumnus of George Mason University in Fairfax, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree.
